The New York Prosecutors Training Institute (NYPTI) is looking for an Accounting/Benefits Assistant. NYPTI is a non-profit organization providing training and technical assistance to New York prosecutors. NYPTI’s 18 professionals work together, fulfilling its mission while enjoying office camaraderie. This is an in-office, downtown Albany position. If you are energetic, versatile, and detail-oriented with excellent computer, communication, organization and time management skills, and can multi-task and maintain confidentiality, then we want to talk to you. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, grants administration, human resources, and corporate benefits.
Duties for this position include:
- Accurately entering data into an accounting system such as Sage or QuickBooks
- Processing/tracking accounts payable/receivable
- Preparing quarterly grant reimbursements
- Preparing materials for annual audit
- Managing corporate insurance coverage
- Onboarding new employees (benefits paperwork/maintain employee files)
- Coordinating annual open enrollment (review of employee benefits)
- Processing bi-weekly payroll
- Working on special projects as assigned
Requirements for this position:
- Associate degree in accounting/business or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years’ experience with payroll and employee benefits
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with professionals at different levels
- Proficiency in Office 365, Sage, Paychex (or similar software packages)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Salary: $50,000 – $65,000
