Assistant District Attorney – Human Trafficking Task Force (HTTF)

Salary: $95,302.00 to start with full benefit package.

Benefits: Generous vacation and sick time allowance, Public Service Loan Forgiveness eligibility and the option to enroll in the St. Lawrence County’s health insurance or opt out of the insurance and receive a buyout in the amount of $2,000 for single coverage or $4,000 for family.

Additional Employment Information: This is a grant funded position working with the Human Trafficking Task Force for a 5 year term, with the potential for term renewal.

Duties of the position: This is professional legal work involving the responsibility for prosecution of all cases of criminal violations of law in the county.  The work involves investigation, preparation, and presentation in court of criminal cases.  In addition to prosecution, an employee in this class researches and orally defends appellate briefs.  Work is performed in accordance with guidelines provided by law.  Supervision may be exercised over subordinate personnel.  The incumbent does related work as required. These duties may be performed as a prosecutor for the Human Trafficking Task Force.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Admission to the Bar in New York State.

PREFERRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate must have a minimum of 5-years of prosecutorial experience and be a member of the New York Bar.  The ideal candidate will also have experience in coordinating multi-agency investigations. The candidate must be available to attend several trainings, some of which will require overnight stays and out-of-county travel. This position requires on-call availability 24/7 and thus comes with a take-home vehicle.
