Executive Assistant District Attorney – Chemung County


Chemung County District Attorney

This is a professional position concerning legal work of a complex nature. This class conducts criminal investigations, prepares, and presents criminal court cases. Additional responsibilities include administrative and supervisory responsibilities regarding all functions of the District Attorney’s office, including the planning, development, and implementation of office policies and procedures, and the development and monitoring of the office budget.

The Executive Assistant District Attorney functions as a supervising assistant district attorney, but is distinguished from the Chief Assistant District Attorney in that this position is not authorized to act as the District Attorney in his/her absence. The class performs related work as required.

Qualifications:

Possession of a license to practice law in the State of New York, a minimum 5 years’ experience as an Assistant District Attorney, and a minimum 10 years practicing law, specifically in the area of criminal law.

Compensation:

Pay: $101,005.00 – $144,780.00 per year, commensurate with experience.
