The Seneca County District Attorney’s Office is seeking an Assistant District Attorney to join our team. This is an opportunity to build a meaningful career in public service law while gaining substantive courtroom experience.

After undergoing a dedicated, hands-on training period with structured mentorship, candidates should anticipate frequent opportunities for direct courtroom experience, including calendar appearances, hearings, and trial work. The position will also involve management of a full but reasonable caseload from initiation of cases through final resolution, including select post-conviction matters.

Applicants with prior prosecutorial experience can expect a manageable caseload that supports long-term sustainability in the role. These applicants should anticipate working in a collegial office environment, while practicing professional autonomy in their case management.

Candidates must be an attorney admitted to practice in the State of New York in good standing or awaiting admission. Criminal law experience is preferred but not required. Successful candidates must be a Seneca County resident or resident of a contiguous county at the time of appointment or be willing to relocate within a reasonable time thereafter.
